Kitdex ("the app") is made by NEWHOUSE SOLAR INC. This policy explains what the app collects, why, and what you can do about it.
What we collect
Account. You sign in with Sign in with Apple. We receive a stable, app-specific user ID from Apple and, if you choose to share it, your email address (or Apple's private relay address). We do not receive your password.
Your collection. The kits you add, their status (unbuilt / building / completed), completion dates, hours, nicknames, notes, display-case positions, and your wishlist. This is stored on our servers (hosted by Supabase) so it syncs between your devices.
Scans. When you scan a barcode that is not in our catalog, we record that barcode number (and nothing else) so we can add the kit later. Camera frames are processed on your device only and are never uploaded.
Diagnostics. Apple may share crash reports with us if you have opted in on your device. We do not run analytics or advertising SDKs.
What we don't collect
No location, contacts, photos, advertising identifiers, or tracking across other apps and websites. We never sell or share personal data with third parties for their own purposes.
Generated artwork
Pixel-art figures shown in the display case are generated from catalog box-art images using a third-party AI image service (Google Gemini). Only the catalog image is sent; nothing about you is included in that request. Generated figures are cached on our servers and shared across all users.
Where data lives
Account and collection data is stored by Supabase (database and authentication). Catalog data and generated artwork are stored in the same project. Data is encrypted in transit.
Deleting your data
Open the app → Me → Delete account. This immediately deletes your account, your collection and wishlist from our servers, revokes the Sign in with Apple link, and clears the data on that device. There is no waiting period and no need to contact us.
You can also remove individual kits at any time; removals sync to all your devices.
Children
Kitdex is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
Changes
If this policy changes we will update the date above and, for material changes, note it inside the app.
